On the GNSS-R Interferometric Complex Field Coherence Time

چکیده
In this paper we focus on the microwave bistatic scattering process, with the aim of deriving an expression for the interferometric complex field auto-correlation function from a static platform. We start from the Fresnel integral and derive the auto-correlation function in the Fraunhofer and Modified Fraunhofer regime. The autocorrelation function at short times can be expressed as a Gaussian with a direction dependent time scale. The directional modulation is a function of the angle between the scattering direction and the wave direction. The obtained relation can be used for directional sea state estimation using one or more GNSS-R coastal receivers.

Sea state monitoring using coastal GNSS - R
We report on a coastal experiment to study GPS L1 reflections. The campaign was carried out at the Barcelona Port breaker and dedicated to the development of sea-state retrieval algorithms. An experimental system built for this purpose collected and processed GPS data to automatically generate a times series of the interferometric complex field (ICF). The ICF was analyzed off line and compared ...

In this study, the capabilities of Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) time series data and machine learning have been evaluated for land cover mapping in Iran. In this way, a time series of Sentinel-1 SAR data (including 16 SLC images with approximately 24 days time interval) from 2018 to 2020 were used for a region of Ahvaz County located in Khuzestan province. Using InSAR proces...

Following a plethora of validations and demonstrations SAR Interferometry (InSAR) has been established as a mature space geodetic technique for providing valuable insights for various phenomena related to geohazards. One of the main advantages of space borne SAR systems with respect to GNSS is the continuous spatial coverage. However, the impact of temporal decorrelation especially in repeat-pa...
متن کاملSNR and Standard Deviation of cGNSS-R and iGNSS-R Scatterometric Measurements
This work addresses the accuracy of the Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS)-Reflectometry (GNSS-R) scatterometric measurements considering the presence of both coherent and incoherent scattered components, for both conventional GNSS-R (cGNSS-R) and interferometric GNSS-R (iGNSS-R) techniques. The coherent component is present for some type of surfaces, and it has been neglected until now...

The interferometric Global Navigation Satellite System Reflectometry (iGNSS-R) exploits the full spectrum of the transmitted GNSS signal to improve the ranging performance for sea surface height applications. The Inter-Modulation (IM) component of the GNSS signals is an additional component that keeps the power envelope of the composite signals constant. This extra component has been neglected ...
